Pastoral Care in Southlakes Parish is organized by the Pastoral Care Committee within Parish Council. Particular emphasis is directed at visiting people who might otherwise have little or no contact with the church community.

Visiting - In addition to the clergy there is a team of dedicated lay people who regularly visit the sick, the housebound and those without transport. They also visit Charles Harrison Nursing Home at Cooranbong and Bayside Nursing Home at Bonnell's Bay. Clergy and Lay Liturgical Assistants administer Holy Communion to people in the nursing homes and in private homes as the needs arise.

Eucharist - Celebrated second Thursday of each month (March to December) in All Saints at 11.30am. Although celebrated primarily for people on the pastoral care program, this service is open to everyone - parishioners and visitors alike. Following the Eucharist a light lunch is served in the Ministry Centre by the Pastoral Carers and by anyone else who would like to 'bring and share'. Transport is available for people who could not otherwise attend.

Enquiries - The Pastoral Care Committee welcomes enquiries regarding offers of help with visiting and with providing transport. Although the team endeavours to keep abreast of the needs of people requiring pastoral visits, there is a need for parishioners to be aware of prospective 'new additions' that otherwise might be overlooked.

Contact - If you become aware of someone who is not currently visited but who would like to be added to the program, or if you would like to assist with visiting and helping with the lunch or with the provision of transport, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator through the Parish Office 33 Newcastle Street Morisset, Telephone 02 4973 1204 or email.
